I'm a little late to the party that is Tabatha's Salon Takeover. I'd seen commercials for the show but hadn't taken in an episode until a couple days ago. I accidentally fell head first into a block of three episodes and when I surfaced, I'd found a new guilty pleasure. Tabatha arrives at salon which is on the brink of collapse due to glaringly bad management and employees running amuck and within a week makes some drastic changes. She's brutally honest in a way that I think would make Simon Cowell blush. Being a lover of the Australian accent, I occasionally get charmed by the sound of her voice and drift off. I'd quickly get jolted back to reality when she'd bark something like, "Pull your head out of your f**king ass! Are you f**king kidding me? This is no way to run a business!" From the few episodes I've seen, there's usually one salon employee that gets all sassy and thinks they can read Tabatha. But within seconds, Tabatha has reduced them to a sniffling mass of tears and usually rightfully so as that's often the weakest link. I won't be recapping this show but I really enjoyed drawing Tabatha so you may see more images of her in the future.
I hit pause on my Tivo during a consultation between Tabatha and some clueless salon owner. That look on her face said it all.
That's pencil on 9" x 12" hot pressed watercolor paper. I used watercolor pencils on her eyes and mouth. I scanned that drawing into my computer and added some digital coloring. Here goes....
As I'm in an Etsy mode, I have the original drawing and a limited edition of prints available on my Etsy shop.
Thanks!
