The inspiration for this posting comes from my blog buddies Steph and Alek at Oh La La Mag.

 

First glance at the above Michael Phelps Sports Illustrated cover made them have the following reaction:
OMG I don't know about you but when I scrolled down this page my twisted mind first saw Michael Phelps in a sexy red evening dress ... LOL! Of course what appears to be the top of an evening dress is just his 8 gold medals from Beijing for the cover of Sport Illustrated ;-)

How could I pass up such a wonderful photoshop opportunity?

My other half brought that Sports Illustrated magazine home a couple of hours ago and all I could see was a Project Runway-ish design challenge.   Turn those gold medals and red ribbons into an evening gown that is equal parts fabulous, fashionable, and swimable.  Not sure if this is win worthy, but here goes.....

Personally, I'd rock the hell out of that outfit.  I do acknowledge that I'm playing with fire here.  Mr Phelps is right up there with Oprah and Jesus at the moment and I mean no disrespect to him.  I'm just round the clock silly.

I have Phelps Phever!
I do.  Ordinarily I could care less about most sports but the summer Olympics has always captured my attention.  I love gymnastics, track and field, and anything that requires wearing a speedo.  I've been glued to the TV ever since the Olympics began which means nonstop Michael Phelps coverage.  And, I've enjoyed every moment of it.  He just won gold medal #7 matching Mark Spitz's record.  If he pulls off a win in the 4x100 medley relay Saturday night then he'll stand alone in Olympic history.
Good luck Mr. Phelps!  I'll certainly be watching.
