I Love New York sketches

It has been forever since I've done some of my wine soaked Tivo sketches.  I love nothing more than to grab a pen and pad of paper, a huge glass of wine, select a terrible Reality Show, hit pause on my Tivo remote, and sketch away.  This session I choose I Love New York on VH1.  Now, I've seen lots of drag queens and I'm just going to say..... um.... well........ she might be a he.  I said might.  I'm not a scientist or a professional gender identifier but she seems manlike and so does her dad mom.  Her mom is the last drawing.   Whatever their gender, they are both fun to draw.

Daily Doodle/ Reality TV Babes

Last night was a very thought provoking episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County on Bravo.  The question seemed to be, "Can Money Buy You Happiness?"  And apparently the answer is yes.  The girls had done a promotional photo shoot and while exiting the building they discovered a brand new Mercedes convertible parked in the driveway.  The newly engaged Lauri, pictured on the right, knew instantly it was for her.  Her fellow castmates and "friends" were thoroughly jealous.  Swimming in it as a matter of fact.  Her friend and soon to be ex-employer Vicki, on the left, tried to play it off like she was happy.  Vicki even said, "You are so lucky" with the same inflection as if she were saying, "Die you undeserving bitch!"  So I paused my Tivo and did this quick sketch of Vicki congratulating Laurie. 

P.S. Is it just me or does it look like a drag queen on crystal meth does Lauri's makeup?

Daily Doodle/ I Ain't Sayin She's A Gold Digger

I will admit I have been a bit coy, you could even call me a down right tease.  For the past couple of weeks I've been doing these quick sketches from a reality show which I put in this daily doodle category.  I've never come out and said what I'm referencing, that is until now.  I am hopelessly adicted to The Real Housewives of Orange County.  There I said it and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted.  For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, consider yourself lucky.  Stop reading this and pretend none of this ever happened.  Stay pure.  For those of you who know what I'm saying, maybe you feel the same way?  I just can't keep away from this show.  It has nothing redeeming about it.  Every week I look forward to it though.  This one I drew is heaven to me.  It seems as though she has a pint or two of something in her face. It's paid off for her though.  If you are watching this season, then you know she has landed herself a big, rich guy.  God Bless America. Daily Doodle/ Reality TV Babe

I am sadly, completely hooked on a reality TV show which shall remain unnamed.  I will say it's on Bravo and that's as far as I'll go.  I actually don't know what night it's on.  My Tivo records it for me which I find to be very thoughtful.  Thanks Tivo.  This show leaves me feeling a little sick, like I ate a whole package of Oreos, yet I always look forward to it.  I require at least one big glass of wine to watch it though.  Again with wine in one hand and a pen in the other, I did this quick sketch of one of the main ladies.   

Daily Doodle/ Simon Cowell

I have seen every episode of American Idol.  Sad, huh?  Including all of those damn results show.  I've laughed (usually at Paula's drunken ramblings), I've cried (typically at those tragic songs they have to sing in the finale), and I've even voted.  Again, sad.  So as I watched last night's episode I was really fascinated by Simon Cowell's haircut.  WTF?  With all that money why does he have that chimp hairdo?  I just don't get it.  I also love all the great expressions he has while the contestants are auditioning.  I forget who was singing when I hit pause on my Tivo.  I planned on doing a typical five minute sketch but the more I drew the more I got into all the shading.  I spent maybe twenty minutes on this one.

Last night I found myself sucked back into bad reality TV.  There's one show in particular that I just can't seem to look away from.  That show shall remain nameless.  I'm powerless against it's horrible message though.  So with a drink in one hand and a pen in the other I did this five minute sketch. 

Daily Doodle/ Tyra Banks on Larry King

Tonight was a very hard hitting and thought provoking episode of Larry King.  Tyra Banks joined Larry King to discuss the controversy that's swirling around those swimsuit photos of her.  The caption accross the bottom of the screen read, "Tyra Banks Fires Back at Fat Attack."

During their discussion, the question was raised if "Thin is in" or if "Fat is where it's at?"  My favorite part was when Larry referred to larger models as overweight and Tyra had to correct him that they are called plus size.  Also She revealed that there are two Tyras: day time Tyra and night time Tyra.  Day time can be found on The Tyra Banks talk show and you will find night time Tyra on  America's Next Top Model.  Day time Tyra is your best friend, likes to hang out, a real girl.  Night time Tyra is very dramatic character who says things like, "Congratulations, you're still in the running towards becoming America's Next Top Model."  Larry asked which Tyra he was talking to, which she replied, "Day time Tyra."
I will say that Tyra did look beautiful.  I was transfixed with her hairline though.  I couldn't quite figure out what I was exactly looking at.   

Again, thank God for Tivo.  I paused the show a couple times to do these two sketches.  Each took under ten minutes each to do. 

Daily Doodle/ American Idol

I watched American Idol last night and a woman who looked like Joan Collins was a guest judge.  I can't remember her name, but I sure did like her wig.

During this audition period there are lots of fun characters, misfits, mentally challenged people, and some really great singers.  I don't remember this contestant's name but he was a nut! 
Each of these drawings took less than five minutes to draw.

 

Daily Doodle/ Botoxed Babe

I was watching an awful, awfuL, awfUL, awFUL, aWFUL, AWFUL reality show last night. I couldn't help myself. There was a collection of truly unlikable women, one worse than the next. This one had so much botox and collagen in her face that all she could do was blink and kind of sort of move her mouth. No smiles, no frowns, no need. She had transformed herself into a heavily made up, blond puppet. Thank God for Tivo. I put down my glass of wine and paused during one of her confessional moments and did this quick sketch. It took about five minutes, if that.

Daily Doodle/ Busty

Maybe I should call this category, every few days doodle? I was watching some awful reality show on Bravo and there was a gaggle of cosmetically altered women sitting around a breakfast table trashing one of the women's behavior from the night before. The whole table was a display of huge fake boobs, frozen faces, and giant upper lips. This one attention starved woman in particular stood out from the pack.
