My friends Steve and Don opened their first frozen dessert location recently in Marina del Rey, CA called Snow Flower Ice. They make shaved ice which is inspired by their travels in Taiwan and the stuff has the texture of frozen cotton candy.  Magic!  I was very honored to create a mural in the front portion of their space.  A couple things to work around: the entrance wall has a large photo of the shaved ice which needed to stay in place, the walls are heavily textured, and the opposite wall had three framed information boards and a fourth to be added shortly.  Here's what I came up with....

And so it begins......  decided to make the large photo a thought bubble.  

Also as their concept stemmed from travelling in Taiwan, I chose to make a mascot or a face of Snow Flower as this lovely lady.  And created this very colorful wave of scrolling detail to flow through the entryway.

Now onto the other side which is a longer wall.

Nene or NayNay?

This is Nene Leakes from the Real Housewives of ATL letting just a little bit of her inner bad girl aka NayNay out.  I hit pause on my dvr remote shortly after Nene called her good friend Cynthia's husband Peter a "bitch", or I mean NayNay called him a bitch.  And told him to stay out of women's bizz-ness.  Then she rolled her eyes and fake gagged herself and made a very unflattering array of faces as Cynthia went on to passive aggressively say they should be nicer to each other.........

Someone slap me please!

Bianca Del Rio from Rupaul's Drag Race

Far and away my favorite contestant on this season's RuPaul's Drag Race is Bianca Del Rio. Not sure what caused her to have this reaction but I had to illustrate it.
