Will the real Christina Aguilera please stand up? Please stand up!

I'm going to start by saying I know this is 100% silly fluff not from concentrate. That said, on with the posting. I'm only aware of the mystical singing goddess known as Lady Gaga because of my BFF. He's always up on the latest dance music and a few months ago played me her song Just Dance. Catchy. I had no idea what she looked like until her star turning performance on So You Think You Can Dance.
Those reader board goggles, that light up wizard stick, those shoulder pads, the choreography....... simply magic! Let the weird 80's synth reign again!
In hopes of seeing Britney Spears making a comeback performance, I Tivo'd the VMAs as I couldn't sit thru the whole grizzly mess. Later in the evening, I fast forwarded thru to just the performances and stopped when I thought I saw Lady Gaga. "Holy sh$t!", I screamed. "How in the f*#k did Lady Gaga get on this show?"
Turns out it wasn't my precious GaGa, but a lip syncing Christina Aguilera paying homage. As she mouthed along to Genie in a Bottle and that other song, I was waiting for the wizard glow wand and the goggles to make an appearance. But no such luck. My BFF came over even later last night and without saying anything, I fast forwarded to Christina's performance, and he exclaimed, "Holy sh*t! How the f*$k did Lady Gaga get on this show?" So I figured I was on to something.
Wonder if anyone else felt that way, or are do me and my BFF have way too much free time?
In closing, I think Chrisina's reworked Genie in a Bottle is pretty great. Off to Itunes to see if it's available.
