Last night I found myself sucked back into bad reality TV. There's one show in particular that I just can't seem to look away from. That show shall remain nameless. I'm powerless against it's horrible message though. So with a drink in one hand and a pen in the other I did this five minute sketch.
This morning when I went online, I came accross these photos of Daniel Radcliffe a.k.a HarryPotter or as I call him,Hairy Potter. I wasn't quite sure what I was seeing? Why is Harry Potter nude with a horse and why do I finding it kind of arousing. Then I read that he is only 17!!!!! I had to wash my eyes out with bleach and repent for my evil thoughts. As I read on, I came to find out the photos, which are actually quite beautiful, are promoting his new play Equus. I believe Equus means hot-but-not-quite-legal-so-don't-look-too-long-you-dirty-perve in Latin. The play is in London and he will be appearing nude. I guess it's about a young man who hurts horses eyes or something? Not sure..... don't really care, but I am thinking about checking flights to England. Wanna come with?
Tonight was a very hard hitting and thought provoking episode of Larry King. Tyra Banks joined Larry King to discuss the controversy that's swirling around thoseswimsuit photos of her. The caption accross the bottom of the screen read, "Tyra Banks Fires Back at Fat Attack."
During their discussion, the question was raised if "Thin is in" or if "Fat is where it's at?" My favorite part was when Larry referred to larger models as overweight and Tyra had to correct him that they are called plus size. Also She revealed that there are two Tyras: day time Tyra and night time Tyra. Day time can be found on The Tyra Banks talk show and you will find night time Tyra on America's Next Top Model. Day time Tyra is your best friend, likes to hang out, a real girl. Night time Tyra is very dramatic character who says things like, "Congratulations, you're still in the running towardsbecoming America's Next Top Model." Larry asked which Tyra he was talking to, which she replied, "Day time Tyra."
I will say that Tyra did look beautiful. I was transfixed with her hairline though. I couldn't quite figure out what I was exactly looking at.
Again, thank God for Tivo. I paused the show a couple times to do these two sketches. Each took under ten minutes each to do.
I did this painting six years ago. I lived in New York for a couple of years and absolutely loved the mix of people, all the walking around, and the whole experience of it. I didn't have a car when I lived there and it was actually a relief to not have to worry about getting a parking ticket or a door ding. When I moved back to LA I was really struck by the old cliche, "No Body Walks In LA." So I did this painting, I guess, as a way of saying goodbye to NY.
I watched American Idol last night and a woman who looked like Joan Collins was a guest judge. I can't remember her name, but I sure did like her wig.
During this audition period there are lots of fun characters, misfits, mentally challenged people, and some really great singers. I don't remember this contestant's name but he was a nut!
Each of these drawings took less than five minutes to draw.
Yesterday I read that Kelly Osbourne wanted to pose for Playboy. Um.......... I................ well.............. um...................... am not quite sure what to say? Hugh Hefner, however, did know what to say. He said no.
Since we won't get a chance to see Miss Osbourne as a Playboy centerfold, I did my own interpretation.
I have read Isaiah Washington is entering a treatment center to address his "issues." I didn't know there was a facility for people who have homophobia? Will Isaiah be seeking spiritual guidance from Rupual? Will he do community service as a go-go boy? Will he have to appear as a guest judge on a future episode of America's Next Top Model? So I imagine there is such a care center, and it would be called Homophobes Anonymous, or HA. HA would be an extremely tastefully designed care center in West Hollywood, staffed with impossibly fit underwear models. The lighting would be soft yet dramatic. The Mitchell Gold furniture would be arranged as though it was going to be photographed for an issue of Elle Decor. "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera would be playing in the background as Isaiah walks in. A red hot Costa Rican staff member in a snug fitting white tshirt would offer him a choice of espresso, mojito, or a pellegrino?
Isaiah, at first, would be uncomfortable, however, after weeks of council he will emerge a new man. An accepting man. A man who loves other men for who they are. And even if the thought of two dudes gettin it on may trigger some far off repulsion, he'll learn to say, "Hey guys, good for you."
One day at a time Isaiah. One day at a time. Best of luck.
I was watching an awful, awfuL, awfUL, awFUL, aWFUL, AWFUL reality show last night. I couldn't help myself. There was a collection of truly unlikable women, one worse than the next. This one had so much botox and collagen in her face that all she could do was blink and kind of sort of move her mouth. No smiles, no frowns, no need. She had transformed herself into a heavily made up, blond puppet. Thank God for Tivo. I put down my glass of wine and paused during one of her confessional moments and did this quick sketch. It took about five minutes, if that.
So this is the third installment of my Brandon Davis Body Of The Week. This time I have plopped that mid cough head on the body of a young Hollywood starlet emerging, pantiless, from the passenger side of car. You can see the shame and delight all over his face as he realizes his nether regions are being captured by the paparazzi and will surely be spread all over the internet. HOT!
Maybe I should call this category, every few days doodle? I was watching some awful reality show on Bravo and there was a gaggle of cosmetically altered women sitting around a breakfast table trashing one of the women's behavior from the night before. The whole table was a display of huge fake boobs, frozen faces, and giant upper lips. This one attention starved woman in particular stood out from the pack.
